Parents of Future South Park 6th grade Knights
Anyone having a 6th grader attend South Park in the 2010-2011 school year is invited to attend the Parent Orientation, which will be held on Monday, March 22, at 6pm in the Cafeteria.  This will be a great informational meeting so please make plans to attend.

South Park Middle School's Junior Health Science Academy
 
South Park Middle School will be the home of the new Junior Health Science Academy for  the 2010-2011 school year!  South Park has developed a unique three year program that will offer a traditional, yet challenging middle school core curriculum for 6th graders.  Participating students will be involved in Health and Science field trips, speakers, and be able to participate in field experiences to area hospitals and college/universities.  Only 50 students will be eligible to participate in this outstanding program.  The deadline for interested students to submit an application is Friday, March 26th.  For further information contact counselors Ms. O'Donnell or Ms. Perez at 878-4720.

TEXAS PUBLIC SCHOOLS WEEK
March 8-12, 2010
 MONDAY:
  1. "Pan Dulce with Parents" from 9-10am in Room 102
  2. "Sing and Play"-Parents are invited to join their child's Fine Arts class.
  3. Parents are encouraged to shadow students for 1/2 a day from 8:45-1pm.
  4. "Leaders Dress for Success"-Students are encouraged to wear business attire to prepare them for a professional career.
  5. "Science encourage Recycling"-Students and parents are asked to bring rinsed and crushed aluminum cans to their science teacher.
TUESDAY:
 
"Donuts with Dad"-Dads are invited to inspire their child to be a leader and join us for donuts from 8-9am in Room 102.
 
WEDNESDAY:
  1. "Waffles with Leaders"-Parents are invited to be served Belgian waffles by Mrs. Clement, Ms. Reyna, and Dr. Davenport in the Teachers' Lounge from 9-10am.  Please sign in at the front office.  The Teachers' Lounge is located right by the Nurse's Clinic.
THURSDAY:
  1. "Work out with your Child"- Parents are invited to work out with their child during their Physical education class period (Bring your Warm ups!).
  2. MATH "TIMES"-Parents are invited to join their child in math class for activities involving the times facts.
  3. History BINGO/Jeopardy- Parents are invited.
FRIDAY:
  1.  "Muffins with Mom" from 8-9am in Room 102.
  2. "Texas Pride Day"-Students and staff are encouraged to wear their Texas college or university jersey, warm-up suit or shirt.

Electronics
 
Please remind your children not to bring any type of electronics to school.  This includes:  MP3 players, PSP, Nintendo DS, Ipods, etc.  Teachers and school personnel are unable to dedicate valuable instructional time looking for missing electronics.  Thank you for your support!
